Get ready for some Halloween fun! Syracuse Elementary students, employees, and volunteers are invited to wear their Halloween costumes on Friday, October 30th! 🎃🕷️

Costume Donations Needed: We have students who do not have the means to purchase Halloween costumes. We are accepting donations of new or gently used costumes to support these students. Donations can be dropped off at the Syracuse Elementary School Office. Thank you in advance for your donations!

Student Costume Expectations:

Students who would like to dress up are welcome to come to school in costume. Any makeup or hair coloring should be in place before coming to school. Please make sure student’s costumes meet our Syracuse Elementary 5:

  • Be respectful: Avoid stereotypes. Be racially sensitive and culturally appropriate. Students may not dress up as an ethnic or cultural group (i.e., Native Americans, a Mexican Pocahantas, Sacagawea, Sitting Bull, Catrina, etc.). Skin color must not be altered in any way.

  • Be responsible: Recognize that students in a wide age range (ages 3-12 years old) will see the costumes. Costumes should be family friendly. Masks may not be worn. Costumes may not be gory or threatening.

  • Be safe: No hand-held accessories or props; NO real or pretend weapons are allowed. Masks may not be worn. Crowns or hats may be worn.

  • Be kind: Costumes should be fun and exciting; not political or offensive.

  • Be understanding: Students may dress up as fictional characters if they follow the above guidelines.

School dress code will be enforced.

If you have questions, please feel free to call the school for guidance. These standards apply to all teachers, staff, and students, as well as guardians/guests who dress up for class parties.

Since this is a NEW event at Syracuse Elementary, please take a few minutes to read our

Halloween Student Costume Expectations (above) before Friday. We want to make sure everyone is ready for a safe, fun, and memorable Halloween celebration!

🎃 Help Us Spread the Halloween Spirit!

We are still collecting new or gently used Halloween costumes for students who may need one. If you have a costume your family no longer needs, consider donating it to help another Stinger join in the fun! Please drop these off at the main office. 🐝💛🖤

We are buzzing with excitement and can't wait to celebrate with our Syracuse Stinger families! Let's make this Halloween a howling good time! 🐝🎃🕷️

Go Stingers! Let's BOO-gie! 🧡🖤
